How appointments get a time zone

Every appointment in Fluent has a time zone. In most cases you won’t need to think about it — Fluent selects it automatically.

In-person appointments

The time zone is set based on the address of the appointment. Just enter the local start time and Fluent handles the rest. If you need to override it, you can change it in the time zone field on the appointment.

Video and phone appointments

The time zone is set based on the device of the user entering the appointment. This can also be changed in the time zone field if needed.

How times are displayed

In the app

All appointment times display based on your device’s time zone setting. If you’re in Mountain Time, you’ll see times in Mountain Time regardless of where the appointment is taking place.

In notifications

Email and push notifications are generated server-side, not from your device. They always display the start and end times in the time zone that was assigned to the appointment, along with the time zone label so there’s no ambiguity.

For interpreters on mobile

If an interpreter receives a video or phone assignment in a different time zone than their own, the app will show the time zone label of the appointment so they know which time zone the listed time refers to.
